How to Maintain Artist Motivation

Young Writer Kai DeVyne Offers
5 Tips to Maintain an Artist Motivation

1. Know when to use self discipline - although good to force sometimes but not all the time. Sometimes when you force yourself to draw and it doesn't go the way you want, it can lead to discouragement. Draw when you feel the want and desire.
2. Create from emotion - do art when you are upset or frustrated. Some of the greatest artwork comes out of anger or the ambition the artist is feeling. Listen to music and 'Art' what he music makes you feel.
3. Recycle - not only supplies and mediums, but also ideas. If something goes wrong the first time you should still keep the vision that you want it to be; come back to it. You never know the short sketch you jotted down last week could become your best work.
4. Attempt  something more than once - for some people it's hard to duplicate an original. Practice a piece that you see people like of yours. That way you can get quicker and crank out art faster; people will be impressed!
5. Know your weaknesses - know what you can and cannot do; for two reasons. Number one, you can get better at it and practice or simply use that weakness to your advantage. For example, if you aren't happy with the way your eyes look, make them look weirder. If one eye is slightly bigger or higher, move it even higher or enlarge it even more. That way it will look like it's meant to be.

I like to spend my free time indulged in the elements of art and music. It makes me feel at ease, accomplished and relaxed in a world so fast paced and structured. When I feel stressed, or feel inspired by something that I heard, or read I usually paint ,and /or draw what it makes me think of or feel. I love stretching and asking questions of reality and pushing the limits of my imagination.
